News - 21st May '05 - DETAINED GETS REVIEWED!

Well, after the excellent review over at AllThingsZombie.com it seems a few more reviews have come in. There's a review at www.horror-movies.ca where Detained is called 'artsy short film with zombies in it'! That's no bad things at all! Then there is a review at www.rumourmachine.com, which is a great site. There, they say -

"The makeup FX are great and the Zombies have obviously studied the finer works, such as NOTLD and DOTD, not the new soulless remakes or imitators"

"I would make an effort to see it on the big screen. It will likely stun most people for a good ten minutes."

Very nice! So thanks to rumourmachine for the review! You should go check it out yourselves! Lastly, but certainly not leastly, Detained got a stunning write-up at www.horrortalk.com . Their reviewer, DJBenz, had some great things to say about it. Head over to their site to check it out but here's the definitive quote -

News - 25th January '05 - WHERE ARE THE UPDATES?

Heh, been a long time since the last update! Christmas has come and gone and we're intothe Space Year 2005 and still no robot butlers or flying cars. What happened to the future eh? Detained showed at the Cincinnati Horror Film Festival since we last updated, which was cool! It has just been sent to a couple more film festivals so we're of course hoping for some good news on those.

Detained has been reviewed at AllThingsZombie.com! Why not head over there and take a look? While you're there, pop into the boards for a chat about, what else, all things zombie! I couldn't be happier with the review. Here's a few quotes -

"Detained is one of the most impressive looking short films I've ever seen."

"The cinematography is excellent and I really dug the cool visual effects."

Lastly, for now, apparently Detained will feature on the Irish television show 'Blizzard of Odd' next monday night on RTE2, if you're in Ireland. Let's hope they go easy on us!

News - 25th September '04 - HIGHLY COMMENDED!

We got a little certificate through the post informing us that Detained picked up a 'Highly Commended' at the 15th International Festival of Fantastic Films in Manchester, England. This is great news (fantastic even!) because it has now put Detained on the horror map! This means a lot to us coming from them as Ramsey Campbell, renowned horror author, is the head cheese of the committee so the recognition packs a punch. As you can imagine, we're very happy about it so thanks very much to everyone on the committee. If you're wondering why we didn't tell anyone it would be at the festival, well, we didn't know!

We also learned yesterday that Detained has been selected for screening at the Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival which is on October 15th-17th. Again, this is great news as this festival is particularly good and simply to have Detained shown there is a great honour. We'll let you know when we get exact details on it but you can also check out their website by clicking here!

News - 21st August '04 - HANGING AROUND

As mentioned on the main page, Detained is currently with a few film festivals and we are hanging around waiting to hear back from them, Let's hope we get some good news!

A few people reported that one of the trailer links went down. By the time you read this, that should hopefully be fixed! It just got lost along the way in the transfer to the new host. Don't forget, if you're still coming here through the inferno.ie address you should update your links as soon as possible. If you see Detained listed anywhere else with that address, we'd love it if you could email us to let us know or alternatively email the site in question with the www.detainedthemovie.com address.

Also, if you have the inferno.ie email address, please replace that with the ending detainedthemovie.com. You can still reach us at the inferno address but I'm not sure for how much longer.

News - 20th July '04 - NEW HOST EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

Jason Tammemägi's short film, 'Dublin 1' won third prize in the Best Animated Short category at the Galway Film Fleadh. Yay!
